Arissa has always had a passion for learning about the human body and mind-body connection. From a young age she was involved in sports and played college basketball for two years in Quebec. Arissa’s area of study is as a result of the injuries during her playing career. It led her to complete her Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology at the University of Calgary. During her degree, she worked as a strength and conditioning coach for the university varsity teams, as well as the Olympic Alpine ski and luge teams.
Arissa is a registered Kinesiologist with the British Columbia Kinesiology Association, and her passion for helping others has led her to pursue further studies. Arissa is currently in her final year at the Canadian School of Osteopathy Manual Practice in Vancouver. At the conclusion of this comprehensive four-year program, Arissa will qualify as an Osteopathic Manual Therapist. She is excited to add to her knowledge and apply it to her current practice.
Arissa has experience coaching a wide range of athletes, from high school to Olympic athletes of various sports, as well as clinical rehabilitation including post-MVA and post-surgical cases. She has seen firsthand the impact of proper movement patterns and training on all facets of an individual’s life. She believes in a holistic, full-body approach to determine the true causes of dysfunction in the body. Through biomechanical analysis and specific exercise prescription, she works to enable clients to return to activities that keep their minds and bodies happy and healthy and moving with confidence.
